A partnership between ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú and Howard University's Bunche International Affairs Center encourages eligible candidates seeking to study International Development at ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú to apply for the Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program.

Payne Fellowship Director, Ms. Eurica Huggins Axum, which is a "highly competitive national fellowship program that identifies and trains outstanding individuals for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)."

Named in honor of longtime development champion, the late Congressman Donald M. Payne, the fellowship encourages the application of members of historically underrepresented groups in international development careers and those with financial need. Pickering Fellowship [includes full tuition, paid internships, and employment]

Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the Pickering Fellowship finances two-year graduate programs for students interested in careers in Foreign Services. The fellowship includes two summer internships, mentorship from a Foreign Services Officer, and additional professional development opportunities.
