Gallaudet is the world鈥檚 most prominent center for deaf and visual performing arts. We have student-led clubs and organizations that provide a space for you to freely and creatively express yourself.
Theatre has long been synonymous with Deaf culture as a medium and platform for our community鈥檚 enduring passion for visual storytelling, often incorporating the artistic power of American Sign Language (ASL) as a means of communication, expression, and accessibility.
Our theater and dance programs are well-renowned and have produced alumni that have gone on to star in film and TV productions such as 鈥淪witched at Birth,鈥� 鈥淕lee,鈥� 鈥淔argo,鈥� the Broadway production of Deaf West鈥檚 鈥淪pring Awakening,鈥� and more.
