Schuchman Deaf Documentary Center

The Schuchman Deaf Documentary Center educates students in the documentary arts and shines a light on significant historical issues and endangered cultural knowledge specific to deaf peoples.

Projects

As a humanities-based center, the SDDC aims to document lived Deaf experiences and to disseminate this knowledge through different products which include films, physical and online exhibits, digital mapping, and others.聽Click on the buttons to explore each project.

The mission of the SDDC is Teach. Do. Share.
鈥 We teach - or build the networks to teach - students how to create documentary films, develop exhibitions, or engage in narrative writing.
鈥 We do documentary work on the Deaf experience.
鈥 We share documentary work with the campus and external constituencies.
